Micheal has been the resident Costume Designer at the Midland Community Theatre since January of 2010. Originally from Alabama, he grew up in a military family while living in Germany, upstate New York, and Hawaii. He gained an interest in theatre during high school, and went on to complete his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre at Jacksonville State University and Master of Fine Art degree in Costume Design at The University of Alabama. He also briefly studied Vocal Performance and Fashion Design while in school. Since graduating, Micheal has designed with diverse theatrical companies across the country including The Louisiana State University Opera, the Shreveport Opera, the Oxford Shakespeare Company, The Southwest Shakespeare Company, the ARK Theatre of Los Angeles, the Snow Camp Historical Society, and the Oklahoma Shakespeare Festival. He also spent some time teaching at Scottsdale Community College and Northwestern State University. Micheal’s best costume design experiences include “Die Zauberflöte”, “Sideshow”, “Hedwig and the Angry Inch”, “Macbeth”, “The Glass Mendacity”, and “Metamorphoses”. You may have seen Micheal on the MCT stage during “Oklahoma” as Jud Fry, or during Summer MuMmers in 2011 as the Villain. He has also been on stage in such roles as Charlie Brown in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”, and Cinderella’s Prince in “Into The Woods”. Micheal resides in Odessa with his partner, James, and their menagerie of pets.
