History & Mission

Midland Community Theatre provides opportunities for all people of all ages to participate in and experience quality theatre arts and education.

Midland Community Theatre has operated under the leadership of founding executive director Art Cole (1946-1983), Don Bachman (1984-1996), and is currently lead by executive director and producer, Timothy Jebsen (since 1997).

    Opened Cole Theatre at 2000 West Wadley

    Summer Mummers started being produced at Yucca Theatre

    Hosted the National AACT (American Association of Community Theatre) festival

    Purchased historic Yucca Theatre in downtown Midland

    Produced EVITA with MOSC at Chap Center

    $3.6 million capital campaign allowed MCT to renovate Cole Theatre

    Hosted International AACT festival at the Cole Theatre

    First community theatre in USA to produce THE PRODUCERS, RENT, LES MISERABLES, and SHREK THE MUSICAL
