Education has been part of Midland Community Theatre since the theatre began in 1946. In our year-round classes for youth of all ages, it is our goal to utilize theatre arts as a tool for expanding creativity and building life skills. MCT’s Education Philosophy relies on “creative drama” as the basis for all of its theme-based classes. Creative drama incorporates improvisation springing from a variety of activities such as storytelling, movement and physical action, music and art which inspires imagination. These skills can be beneficial in all areas of life beyond a performance arena. The hope is that your child will build social skills, self-confidence and a love of creative expression through this philosophy.
