Bill Williams came to Midland in 1999 from a position as Artistic Director of the Eckerd Theatre Company in Clearwater, Florida.  He received his B.A. from Bowling Green University in Ohio, then traveled to New York where he studied at the Actor’s Playhouse.  Mr. Williams has written and directed over 75 plays, including an adaptation of The Hundred Dresses, which the Pickwick Players performed at Kids Fest in Christchurch, New Zealand in 2000.  The script was performed again in 2012 at Act 3 International in Singapore, making the Pickwick Players the first amateur theatre company to perform there.  Bill continues to write and adapt plays for children, most of which are produced as part of MCT’s membership season.  His scripts have also been performed in Brussels, Belgium and Newcastle, England.  In his time at Midland Community Theatre, he has directed over 50 plays and musicals for our area youth, and works with Judith Giebler in developing and teaching all programs in the Education Department.  Bill would like to thank his teacher, Mrs. Atkins, for casting him as Charlie Brown in the 6th grade.  Her belief in a shy young kid began Bill’s lifelong journey as a writer, director, mentor, and educator.
