Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. He’s a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she’s a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. Their new apartment is her most recent find – too expensive with bad plumbing and in need of a paint job. After a six-day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie’s loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic, Velasco, where everything that can go wrong does. Paul just doesn’t understand Corie, as she sees it. He’s too staid, too boring, and she just wants him to be a little more spontaneous. Running “barefoot in the park” would be a start…
Set at a summer stock theatre many years ago, Babes In Arms concerns a group of young apprentices and their conviction to mount an original revue, despite the underhanded attempts of the surly theatre owner to squash their efforts at every turn. Further complications stem from the overbearing stage mother of a beautiful ex-child star and the inflated ego of a hack southern playwright. But of course the show must go on, and so it does — in a spectacular musical resolution of comeuppance, reconciliation and romance.
This summer, the theater is the site for the Dingling Brothers Efflee and Bailey Circus! But there is treachery afoot…. Big Daddy Dingling is missing!?! Ranger Randy Rightrider and his sidekick, Ranger Whoopington Crane III are sent by the Texas Rangers to investigate the wrongdoings at the circus and find Big Daddy. Doretta Dingling has returned home from boarding school to locate her missing father and is aided in her search by the mystic Gypsy Rose Schimdt. Dr. Odious Boondoggle, a villainous cad, has kidnapped the owner of this fine, traveling amusement. His loyal assistant, Sulky the Clown the voluptuous Hydra and the Doublemint Twins are up to no good, and the future of the circus is at stake! Will our heroes ever find Big Daddy? Will Dr. Odious find the stock certificates he desperately seeks? Will the Mummers never run out of popcorn??!!? Find out this summer - stroll into the Yucca and run away with the circus! We are eager to show you to your table, Popcorn poppers will soon be overheating, margaritas will be served in mugs, and the Mummers band is tuning up (kind of)!
