There’s a place for everyone at Midland Community Theatre—whether you enjoy working with people, prefer hands-on creative projects, or want to help bring a production together behind the scenes. Volunteers are essential to every show we produce, and we’d love to have you join us.

For Safety
Walk-ups are not permitted for volunteer roles, work calls, or show support.
For the safety of our volunteers, staff, and patrons:
All volunteers must be registered in advance.
Before volunteering, individuals must:
- Complete the official volunteer sign-up form
- Review and sign Midland Community Theatre’s Code of Conduct
- Receive confirmation before arriving for a shift or work call
This helps us ensure proper training, supervision, and a positive experience for everyone
Ways to Volunteer
Front of House (FOH)
- Ushering & seating guests
- Ticket scanning/check-in
- Lobby assistance & audience support
Concessions
- Selling snacks & drinks
- Stocking and intermission support
- Creating a welcoming patron experience
Backstage & Production Support
- Stage crew / running crew during performances
- Set build & strike
- Props assistance
Costume & Scenic Support
- Costume shop help (cutting, sewing, organizing, repairs)
- Assisting with fittings and costume prep
- Scenic painting and set finishing
- Detail work leading into tech week
Work Calls:
Work calls are scheduled volunteer opportunities—often leading into tech week—where volunteers assist with finishing costumes, completing scenic painting, preparing props, and adding final details to the set. Participation requires prior volunteer registration and confirmation.

Training & Placement
Some volunteer roles require additional training or orientation, particularly backstage and production-related positions. Training will be provided as needed, and volunteers will be placed based on interest, experience, and availability.
